A study appearing in Current Biology exposed 21 individuals to LSD, placebo, and a serotonin blocker to evaluate the mechanism of the psychedelic drug. The results reveal that one receptor might be at the root of many of LSD's effects, including its ability to impose meaning on meaningless stimuli.  For the video version, click here.
