Doc to Doc with CDC Director Tom Frieden
Tom Frieden was appointed director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention by Barack Obama in 2009. His tenure as director is the second-longest in CDC history, and he has overseen the US response to H1N1, MERS, Ebola, and Zika virus. He has announced his intention to resign on January 20th, as is tradition for political appointees.
